I am working on a PhD in Sociology at the University of Calgary. I started in September (2006) after taking a year to fully realize how much I would regret not “going all the way.”
Also, I couldn’t find a real job.
My Master’s thesis was on the Metafilter.com community, and the role that possession of different forms of capital play in stratifying its members.
My current research focus is how patients use online communities centred around rare illnesses in their health work, and how this impacts the patient/doctor dynamic.
